Recorded audition required; deadline to apply April 5, 2019 but sooner is better, especially if you are a pianist; those spots fill up quickly. They’ll also take late applicants if there are still spots open. Incredible immersive jazz experience attended by many Roosevelt Jazz students over the years. Don’t think less of it because it is essentially in our backyard, it is totally awesome. The Seattle Saxophone Institute is the premier summer music opportunity for area saxophonists. It features a faculty of four world-class performer-educators, along with daily guest artists and a professional rhythm section. The camp’s mission is to offer a fun and supportive environment for students to express themselves in the many different genres of music. Students will study the fundamentals of tone and technique, classic jazz improvisation, big-band section playing, free improvisation, classical saxophone, and more! At the end of the week, students perform a final concert at The Royal Room jazz club!
